My son had a great time each day and gained a tremendous amount of confidence.
I have worked in athletics and recreation for over 12 years.
This is the most comprehensive coaching I have ever seen.

BTLL's annual Coach-Player Fall Ball program gives players in-depth skill training and drill work, as well as dozens of innings of playing time in the program's unique instructional scrimmage format. Workouts run for five weeks, twice a week, two hours per session - 20 hours of learning, playing and fun. Half of each workout is skills and drills; half is scrimmage.

Players are drilled daily in the batting swing and proper throwing and catching technique. Over the course of the fall the players learn the entire swing and drills that train a solid, consistent swing. Pitching mechanics are taught later in the fall after the players establish good throwing mechanics.

Fielding, base running and coordinated team defensive play are also a big part of the program content. We run a modified, fast paced scrimmage. There is no standing around; all players are constantly moving and involved in the game. There are no walks or strikeouts.

Parents are encouraged to participate on the field assisting the coaches. You come to recognize that the game, at this level, is not complicated to teach (your participation makes a positive difference), while the experience of working with the kids is fun and fulfilling.

Intermediate All Stars Wins District 9 Tournament

The Bellevue Thunderbird Intermediates All Star team won the District 9 All Star tournament, which took place from Saturday June 15 through Friday June 21. The team remained undefeated in the 5-team tournament, playing 3 games over the 6 days to capture the District 9 championship. The team performed like a well-oiled machine through the tournament, scoring a cumulative 64 runs against their 3 opponents. The other teams played well, but just couldn't stop these boys. The team is now awarded the honor of travelling to the Washington State tournament, to be held in Vancouver, Washington beginning on Saturday, June 29.

Great job boys, and great job coaches, and GOOD LUCK at the state tournament!

BTLL Youth Scholarship Program

Dear Members of the Bellevue Thunderbird Community:

We are pleased to continue the Bellevue Thunderbird Little League Youth Scholarship Program for the 2017 season. This program provides recognition to BTLL youth volunteers 12+ years old who support our softball and baseball programs. At the end of each season, we will award a number of scholarships to deserving individuals who:

  1. Contribute to BTLL
  2. Act as role models on and off the field
  3. Are enrolled in school and in good academic standing
  4. Are registered volunteers with BTLL

BTLL's goals are to encourage youth volunteerism and recognize the contribution of our youth to BTLL. The maximum scholarship award available to any eligible individual in a given year is $1,000. Recipients of BTLL Youth Scholarships will also receive a letter of recognition from BTLL and a certificate that can potentially be included in college applications.

We are excited about this program and hope to see strong participation from our youth in various capacities, including help in winter training, supporting opening day, and umpiring.
