BellevueThunderbird Little League Boundary

Bellevue Thunderbird Little League is part of Washington State Little League District 9, which comprises 14 Leagues on the east side of Lake Washington. District 9 includes the cities of Bellevue, Mercer Island, Kirkland, Redmond, Issaquah, Sammamish, and the Snoqualmie Valley from Duvall to North Bend. Over 12,000 boys and girls ages 5 thru 18 participate in baseball and softball in these 14 Leagues.

Bellevue Thunderbird Little League serves players who live in south Bellevue and parts of Newcastle (generally zip codes 98006 and much of 98059). The League boundary includes the area south of I-90, between the Bellevue School District boundary and Lake Washington shore, and the area bounded by Coal Creek Parkway on the west, May Valley Road on the south and Cougar Mountain Park on the east. A more complete description is at the bottom of the page.

Bellevue Thunderbird includes the communities of Newport Shores, Factoria, Somerset, Newport Hills, Eastgate and China Creek.

Please make sure you live within the Bellevue Thunderbird boundary before registering, or have a valid reason to request a waiver.

There are three exceptions to the boundary rules:

  1. Beginning with the 2014 season, Little League amended its residency requirements to allow children to play in the local league within whose boundary the child's school is physically located. If your child attends a school located within the Bellevue Thunderbird boundary, he or she is eligible to play in our league by providing appropriate school registration documentation (e.g., school enrollment form, attendance form completed by principal, etc.).
  1. A player who previously resided within or attended school within the League boundary and played in Bellevue Thunderbird Little League, whose residence or school changes to outside the League's boundary, qualifies to continue playing in Bellevue Thunderbird under Regulation II (d) as long as there is no gap in registration.
  1. If a parent previously resided within the League boundary for two years, and was a manager, coach or member of the League Board of Directors for two years prior to moving, that manager, coach or BOD member's children may be eligible to continue to play in Bellevue Thunderbird under Regulation IV(h).

NOTE: If you live out of boundary and your league does not offer an Intermediate (13-year olds), Juniors (14-year olds) or Seniors program (15 & 16-year olds), you may be eligible to play for Bellevue Thunderbird Little League. Please contact the League for more information at info@bellevuethunderbird.com.

If you feel you qualify under one of the three eligibility scenarios above or if your local league does not offer the division you would like to play, please send the appropriate school documentation, waiver form (links at the bottom of this web page), or other pertinent information to us at info@bellevuethunderbird.com.

A player who lives outside the League boundary may participate only under the situations described above.
